unfinished concepts

Both my comp and my life have been acting up lately, but during their moments of good behavior I designed (and redesigned, in the case of the guy on the right) some characters who've been in my mind since 2012. Professor Holton Menelaus, left (pronounced men-uh-lay-us), a geophysics professor at a private college, sometimes jokingly called "Molten Holton" by his students--most likely a double entendre involving his enthusiasm for volcanoes. And Andrew Campbell, right, an introverted pyrotechnician and one of the professor's former students many years ago. They were once close friends, but after an unknown incident that caused the professor, a devout Catholic, to be kicked from his church, he fled and hasn't been seen since, not even by Andrew. Today Andrew himself lives in hiding for a multitude of reasons, one of them being the suspected murder of the priest who excommunicated his friend. He's changed his name many times, currently going by Augur Corke. For some impractical (see: stupid) reason he keeps his original initials with each change--probably in the hopes that a friend will find him.
